| The story of the world, as revealed by God, in the Bible, is that God existed in glory from eternity and created the world for the reflection of His glory. In so doing, He displayed perfection in beauty, goodness, and relationships- with Him and each other. Humankind, desiring its own glory above His, experienced a brokenness of this perfection, bringing separation in relationships and corruption of beauty and goodness. God, through history, and by His grace, has brought restoration to this brokenness and corruption, realized in the sending of His Son, Jesus Christ and proclaimed through His church, His redeemed people. Jesus came in perfection to be what we could not be and to die the death we deserve, so that we might know and display fully His glory again. We live in an "already, not yet" state of this glorious story, sustained by His Spirit until all is made whole, again. |

"The Bible's purpose is not so much to show you how to live a good life. The Bible's purpose is to show you how God's grace breaks into your life against your will and saves you from the sin and brokenness otherwise you would never be able to overcome... religion is 'if you obey, then you will be accepted'. But the Gospel is, ' if you are absolutely accepted, and sure you're accepted, only then will you ever begin to obey'. Those are two utterly different things. Every page of the Bible shows the difference."
