Training children in righteousness is not an easy task. In fact, it is impossible without God's help. We at Southside Community Church want you to know that we are committed to training children, and that we're here for you! Praise God that we do not have to approach the great responsibility of training our children alone. It is not good to be alone, and it is no accident that God brings His people together in a community called the church. Whether you are a grandparent, parent, aunt, or uncle we're here to help you in training the children that God has entrusted to your care.
During our Sunday worship service, a Children's Worship service is held. The children remain with their parents until just before the homily, when they are dismissed to Children's Worship. Here, they cover age appropriate, Biblical material divided into two groups, ages 3-5 and 5-9.
Our nursery welcomes newborns through children age three years and is available during Christian Education, the Worship Celebration and Wednesday Night at Southside.
The infant nursery is available for newborns through babies age 18 months. This nursery serves as a nursing mothers room and is equipped with sound from the Sanctuary.
The toddler nursery is available for children age 18 months through three years. Toddlers are moved up from the infant nursery when they are walking well, no longer requiring a bottle and using a sippy cup independently. The toddlers participate in the the Christian education hour.
The nursery is staffed with 2 nursery attendants who have provided quality nursery care at Southside Community Church for over 7 years. In addition to our 2 paid nursery attendants we also encourage our members to volunteer in the nurseries. For more information about volunteering in the nursery please conact the church office.
